2022 Annual IC3 Conference

Event Report

The Annual International Career & College Counseling (IC3) Conference brings together higher education representatives for a collaborative dialogue on issues that drive sustainable and inclusive counseling practices focused on student success.

The 2022 Annual IC3 Conference commenced on the 24th of August at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Hyderabad. The two-day event is an annual congregation of senior educators, teachers and counsellors from all across the globe.

 

This year’s theme of ‘Access and Inclusion’, was fulfilled by the presence of 1500 delegates from 66 countries. The delegates represented global high schools, universities, and organizations that provide career guidance to aspiring students. 

The conference began at 7.00 am IST with the arrival and registration of attendees. A meditation session was conducted to invoke mindfulness before the sessions began. At around 10:00 am, the opening keynote was delivered by one of India’s renowned music composers: Mr Anil Srinivasan.

 

Mr Anil engaged the audience with the power of manifestation and creativity. The audience joined him as he played melodies on his keyboard. 

Over a span of two days, forty-two academic sessions were conducted by expert speakers from the field of education. The attendees could choose a session of interest and schedule it on the IC3 Mobile App.

 

Topics like 'Developing Intrinsic Motivation in Students’, ‘Supporting Students Seeking Financial Aid’, ‘Rethinking Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ and subjects pertaining to student recruitment were explored at these sessions. 

Some of the speakers include Vir Anand (Director – India, University of St Andrews, U.K.), Shonagh Maak (Recruitment Manager, University of Glasgow, U.K.), Ryan Benitez (Founder, METO, U.S.), etc. 

The conference included interactive avenues like ‘University & High School Exhibits’ and ‘IC3 Expo’. These events enable the delegates to showcase their institutions, network and exchange ideas with other delegates.

 

The conference concluded with a closing keynote by the renowned Indian mythologist and author - Mr Devdutt Pattanaik. His session was shaped by the economics of human transactions. The delegates departed with an exchange of hugs and roses.
